Healtheries Bladder Care uses concentrated cranberries to
relieve bladder and urinary tract discomfort. Research has
shown this natural remedy is rich in vitamins and minerals
and has antiseptic properties within our urinary system. The
result is protection again cystitis asnd relief from the uncomfortable
burning sensation commonly experienced.
Cranberries are rich in potassium, magnesium, vitamins A
and C and possess antiseptic properties wihin our urinary
system. Cranberries help provide protection against cystitis
by helping to prevent the adherence of harmful bacteria to
the bladder lining while helping to relieve pain and burning
associated with cystitis.
E. Coli and bacteria that normally resides in the large intestine
is responsible for about 85% of all urinary tract infections.
Tamms-Horsfall glyocprotein, a natural substance present
in the urine of some individuals, has the ability to attach
itself to the E. Coli bacteria and inhibit them from attaching
to the bladder wall. Individuals with enough Tamms-Horsfall
glycoprotein are unlikely to get a urinary tract infection
from E. Coli. Those who lack or have low levels of this natural
substance are more susceptible.
In 1994, researchers at Weber State University in Utah discovered
that cranberry contains a substance similar in activity to
the Tamms-Horsfall glycoprotein. In vitro tests where cranberry
was added to a petri dish along with E. Coli bacteria and
bladder cells, the addition of the cranberry substance kept
the bacteria from attaching to the bladder cells.
In 1994 a Havard University study involving 153 elderly women
with histories of repeated urinary tract infections showed
that regular consumption of cranberry juice cocktail can decrease
the incidence of urinary tract infections.

tract infections.

Ingredient Information:
Cranberry Juice
- It is a potent inhibitor of bacterial E. Coli adherence
to bladder lining[1]
- Studies reveal that Cranberry Juice inhibted adherence
by75% or more in over 60% of the 77 clinical isolates of
E. Coli tested[1]
- 15 of 22 human subjects showed significant anti-adherence
activity in the urine 1 to 3 hours after drinking 15oz cranberry
juice[1]
- Cranberries are rich in benzoic acid which is excreted
as hippuric acid in the urine[2] and acidifies urine.
